Calling all Equestrians! McDowell Sonoran Preserve

Project & Activities Calendar April 2002

Some of the following activities represent potential volunteer opportunities in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Let's show 'em what horse folks can do! Come join up!

Wednesday, April 3rd: Trail Obliteration/Brushing Project; 124th Street/Cactus area; Meet at 124th Street north of Cactus (the Lost Dog Wash Trailhead area); Meet at 8 am; (2-3 hours);

Saturday, April 6th: In conjunction with Arizona State Land Department - working with mountain bike group; Trail sign installation project; Meet at 8 am at gate on Alma School Road, north of Dynamite, where the pavement ends. (4-6 hours)

Saturday, April 20th: Pinnacle Peak Park Grand Opening Celebration. Celebrate the opening of Pinnacle Peak with everyone! Watch for details.

Monday, April 22nd: Earth Day work project; Trail Obliteration at Brown's Ranch - closing down a 'summit trail' that is not on the approved trails plan; Stewards will be needed to lead small work groups. Meet at the Alma School gate, 8 am. (4 hours)

Saturday, April 27th: Earth Day/Environmental Event at the Water Campus; Exact details tba - not necessarily a work project, but another opportunity to come, pick up information and enjoy a variety of environmental displays and presentations.
