Hollywood Dun It Earns NRBC Top Sire Award

Byars, Oklahoma - Hollywood Dun It, the National Reining Horse Association's Leading All Time Sire has claimed another laurel through the accomplishments of his foals. The 19-year-old stallion earned leading sire honors at the recent National Reining Breeders Classic, held April 17-21 in Katy, Texas.

Hollywood Dun It foals collected an incredible $112,083.42 of the $702,137 total payout at the show to earn their sire the special custom NRBC Crystal Sire Award.

Owned by McQuay-Easton, LLC of Tioga, Texas, Hollywood Dun It is the only stallion to sire foals earning over $2 million in National Reining Horse Association competition and the boost from his 13 money-earners at the NRBC has put him ever closer to the $3 million milestone.

Topsail Whiz, owned by Bob Loomis of Marietta, Oklahoma, was the second-leading sire at the 2002 NRBC, with 11 foals earning $95,132.60.

According to National Reining Breeders Classic Executive Director, Jeff Magoteaux, the NRBC Leading Sire Award was created by the NRBC Board to recognize the accomplishments of the stallions that are the heart of the NRBC program. The Top Sire Award is based on earnings of foals in all divisions of Classic Competition.

Another new NRBC sire recognition program begun for 2002 awarded $2,500 cash prizes to the owners of the sires of both the Open and Non Pro champions. Grays Starlight, owned by Polo Ranch of Marietta, Oklahoma, earned the $2,500 bonus for Starlights Wrangler's win of the NRBC Open Championship. Saddle Creek Farms received a like amount for Missin James having sired Dont Miss This, the 2002 Non Pro Champion.

Magoteaux commented, "The sire awards are a first step toward continuing to recognize the accomplishments of the sires enrolled in the NRBC." He added that the awards program for sire owners also includes commemorative plaques to the sires of Top Ten finalists in both the Non Pro and Open Divisions.

The National Reining Breeders Classic is the most successful stallion incentive program in reining history. In just four years, the NRBC has grown to include over 220 subscribed stallions and more than 6,700 enrolled foals, and the payout at the 2001 Saltgrass Steak House National Reining Breeders Classic was over $630,000.
