The morning mixer at Los Cedros USA, hosted by the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona June 8th was a big success.  There visitors enjoyed a sport horse seminar and toured the one-of-a-kind Los Cedros USA.

Attendees could see several Scottsdale, US, and Canadian National Champion Arabian horses.  Plus there were miniature horses and huge sport horses to see now living at the ranch on Pima road.  Besides beautiful horses, Los Cedros is filled with a variety of special items including an equestrian pool, and to the knowing eye several of the late Tom Chauncey’s favorite bronzes.  The huge breezeways and barn facility was recently showcased to planners currently working on the WestWorld project.

The crystal water, of the pool, gave way to a sleek Arabian who made several laps in front of an impressed crowd.  Even other horses peaked out of their stall windows to see what was going on. “We are very excited to see the turn-out for the affair,” claimed new AHAA president Janice McCrea Wight.  It was the first gathering of members since the elections May 14, 2002 and a nice variety of people attended bringing with them new ideas and friends to share in the beauty of the Arabian horse.  Several won door prizes, and there were plenty of complimentary drinks, donuts, and pastry.

The new team leading AHAA is already working on Scottsdale 2003.  As the new president, Janice McCrea Wight is joined by; Bill Flood – Vice President, Sharon Chauncey – Star as Treasurer, Mary Beethe as Secretary.  The new board consists of Bobbi Woodcock, Bill Walton, Carole O’Conner, Terry Holmes, Lollie Ames, and Jay Allen.

The next show for AHAA is the Fall Festival & Futurity Show – November 7-10, 2002.  The dates for the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show are February 14-23, 2003.  Sponsors and vendors are encouraged to contact the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona for upcoming events.  If you have any questions call Taryl Pearson at the AHAA office by calling (408) 515-1500.  E-mail address is info@scottsdaleshow.com, and the website is www.scottsdaleshow.com.
